Bryanna Amanda Deras is a graduating senior at Howard University, double majoring in Psychology and Spanish from Paterson, New Jersey. Her experiences as an inner-city kid fueled her commitment to uplifting marginalized communities. As an After-School Program Instructor, she is passionate about youth empowerment and creating culturally affirming spaces where children feel seen, heard, and valued. Deeply connected to her Salvadoran and Puerto Rican roots and a native Spanish speaker, Bryanna is committed to reinforcing and validating the identities of the youth she serves, regardless of their background. In her role, she strives to build strong community connections and create a lasting impact by being a trusted, relatable mentor that children can rely on.
