Talent in Action Job Readiness and Internship Program

This program equips participants with the skills and confidence to secure and succeed in professional roles. The program is broken up into two phases: a six week intensive job readiness/digital literacy training and subsequent 10-week paid internship with a partner employer.

Phase 1: The first phase of this initiative is a 6 week job readiness and digital literacy program. Through twice-weekly sessions (totaling 8 hours per week) we will cover job readiness essentials, communication skills, resume and cover letter creation, and contextualized digital literacy. Participants engage with guest speakers from partner organizations who share career insights and tips, and practice professional skills through networking and mock interview events.

Phase 2: After completion of phase 1, participants are placed in a 10-week paid internship with a partner employer, where they receive mentorship and hands-on experience.

As a participant, you are a great fit for the Talent in Action Internship program if you are:

  • Seeking a part-time paid internship

  • Looking to gain work experience in the United States

  • Open to working in-person or in a hybrid position

  • Interested in joining a cohort and participating in professional development programming

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. during the course of the internship

As a host partner, you are a great fit to be an employer partner if you:

  • Are an organization or business interested in hosting a talented and passionate MLOV participant

  • Have staff capacity to manage an intern and provide a robust learning experience

  • Can utilize support for a significant project, campaign, or idea

  • Are seeking an intern for approximately 12 weeks from approximately late-August to mid-November 2025

  • Can complete a midpoint and final evaluation of the participant’s performance

Every host organization that participates in the program must be able to:

  • Offer your interns(s) at least 180 hours of work over the course of the internship period

  • MLOV will pay for 18 hours of the intern’s work at your organization. Interns may be available to work more than 18 hours per week. Partners would be required to cover the cost of hours worked over 18 hours/week.

  • Provide meaningful guidance

  • Include a major project or initiative in your interns work portfolio
