Rubi Arvizu

Immigrant Justice Coordinator

Rubi Arvizu is originally from Los Angeles, California and is a proud first-generation daughter of Mexican immigrants. She received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, Florida. While in law school, Rubi served as a Student Attorney in the Advanced Immigration Clinic and received early exposure to immigration related matters ranging from family based petitions, Temporary Protected Status cases, and Asylum applications. Rubi also served as Vice-President of the Immigration Law Society, where she helped organize several free citizenship clinics for the community. Prior to law school, she would help register ethnic and racial minority voters in Central Florida. Rubi is deeply devoted to continuing her work in supporting marginalized communities in DC. In her free time, you can find Rubi trying out new foods of different cultures or spending time with her family and energetic husky.
