Helen is an educator and researcher experienced in healthcare research with an eye towards how language and communication insights can elevate immigrant patients’ experience, leading to better access to quality care. She is especially focused on researching and implementing ways to increase language access in medical settings. She is a first-generation immigrant from Tamil Nadu, India who grew up in Singapore before arriving in DC in 2018 for her doctoral studies in Linguistics. She is now pursuing her final year of the PhD at Georgetown University. Beyond her research, Helen is passionate about sharing and cooking the flavors of her childhood and upbringing in India and Singapore with friends.
