D.C. Language Access Coalition Proposal

20 Years Later - Ensuring Agency Compliance with the Language Access Act of 2004

The DC Language Access Coalition (DCLAC) has a unique role in DC in ensuring that DC residents have access to government services in their language. These include critical services like access to information about their children’s education, benefits like health insurance and food stamps, and housing and safety services. The Coalition was formed prior to the passage of the DC Language Access Act (LAA) of 2004, and was instrumental in leveraging support for the LAA’s passage.
