VIDEO: "Communities in Translation"
"Communities in Translation” was created by documentarian Robert Winn in 2011 in collaboration with members of the DC Language Access Coalition, including Many Languages One Voice. The film explores the impact of language barriers during emergencies, specifically focusing on the 2008 fire of an apartment building in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Washington, DC.

ACCESS DENIED: The State of Language Access in DC
Download a report based on interviews with over 200 community members from 28 countries, about their experiences with DC government agencies. The Report was a collaboration between the DC Language Access Coalition and American University Washington College of Law's Immigrant Justice Clinic.
