Liliana Hernandez
Summer Youth Instructor
Hi! I’m a senior at California State University, Northridge, majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Psychology. I’m originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, and moved to Los Angeles during high school. This summer, I’m excited to be in D.C. working as a Summer Youth Instructor with MLOV.
My interest in anthropology started with a desire to learn about different cultures and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. While working at a high school, I realized how important leadership is not just for students, but for their families too, which inspired me to get more involved in community work.
I volunteer as a sexual assault crisis advocate with Strength United, supporting survivors of violence. I also like giving back to my community whenever I can, especially during the holidays, when I make and deliver food to people experiencing homelessness in L.A.
In my free time, I love running, dancing, and trying new food!
